Upcoming Event: Kentucky Agriculture Pre-Summit Symposium on Bioenergy

Upcoming Event: Kentucky Agriculture Pre-Summit Symposium on Bioenergy

The Kentucky Agricultural Council (KAC) will host the 2011 Kentucky Agriculture Summit with a focus on rural economies and agricultural communities on Friday, November 18th in Louisville, KY.  In addition, KAC will hold a Pre-Summit Symposium on Bioenergy, a field that holds particular importance to the agricultural community as markets for biomass emerge, on November 17th.  The field of Bioenergy is one which holds essential opportunities throughout our whole state and segments of agriculture—from forestry to row crops to many innovative varieties of biomass for which commercial markets are looking promising.  This symposium will take a comprehensive look at trends and potential events for Kentucky Agriculture and rural communities in bioenergy.

This Pre‑Summit Symposium on Bioenergy will feature sessions on Biofuels Issues, Energy Technologies & Sustainability and Issues with Implementing the Utilization of Biofuels. These topics are important to Kentucky, and will shed light on many of the questions that might develop pertaining to Bioenergy.  A few of the key speakers include our very own, Dr. Bruce Pratt, Director of EKU CRAFT, who along with Dr. Len Peters, Secretary of Kentucky Energy & Environment Cabinet, will be giving the welcoming remarks.  Additional speakers planned for the symposium are Don McCabe, Dr. Sam Jackson, Billy Jacob, and many more! This will be a great experience for everyone who attends!

The Kentucky Ag Summit and the Bioenergy Symposium are presented by the Kentucky Agricultural Council and its lead sponsor, the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund, with support from Kentucky Proud! For more information regarding this event, including a full list of speakers, hotel information, and downloading a registration form, please visit www.kyagsummit.com. Hope to see you there!
